Rebecca M. Bolton, 78, Kokomo, passed away at 5:45 AM Thursday March 26, 2015 at Howard Regional in Kokomo. She was born November 19, 1936 in Kokomo to Floyd "Ted" Sparling and Orpha G. Smith. She married Conlas Bolton in Illinois in 1972 and he preceded her in death August 31, 2003.
Rebecca was a Supervisor at Community Howard Hospital in the Dietary Dept. from 1963-1985. She enjoyed country music, collecting miniature shoes, and coffee memorabilia. She operated a daycare in her home for several years. Rebecca volunteered at the Salvation Army, she prepared the lunches for their Advisory Board, was a member of the Salvation Army Women's Ministries as a 50 year soldier, and managed Area Five's Senior Citizen program. She was in the Women's Circle, and at one time, the first President of the Indiana State Johnny Cash fan club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and one brother Roscoe Sparling.
She is survived by brothers, Ted E. (Merna) Sparling, Destin Fl., Dr. H Logan (Carolyn) Sparling, Kokomo, Michael A. (Laura) Sparling, Greenfield, NH., sister, Martha (Ronald) Smith, Greentown, and many nieces and nephews.
The services for Rebecca will be Monday March 30, 2015 at 2:00PM at Ellers Mortuary Webster Street Chapel, 3400 South Webster Street, Kokomo. The family will offer visiting hours prior to the service from 10:00AM to 2:00PM. At 2:00PM there will be a time of caring and sharing by family and friends. Anyone may come forward with any messages they may have about Rebecca. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army.
